The only thing that even comes close to the importance of coffee in our society is chocolate. I hopeRead More your tummy heals soon!

Don't I know it! I had that awful stomach bug that's been going around and it was eight days beforeRead More I felt good enough to have coffee! How are you feeling now? Better, I hope!

I'm fine now, thanks, all. I post these about two weeks after the fact, so I'm rarely timely. AndRead More I apologize about missing the fact that Hawaii is in fact American soil -- I should have said "continental American soil." Still, the point is the same, the point being that I love coffee with a passion bordering on the clinical.

It's a male dominated thermostat here. My husband loves the house good and cold at around 66 in theRead More winter, but thinks 78-80 is ideal in summer. Hmmm...

From a blog on Boston.com: Turn down the thermostat to lose weight - Health - Boston.com RecentRead More research found that if we stay out of the "Goldilocks Zone" and keep the house colder in winter we activate beige fat which burns up to 30% more calories. http://www.boston.com/lifestyle/health/blogs/daily-dose/2014/01/29/turn-down-the-thermostat-lose-weight/MIlg7thWXLvwzqx1vb6ixI/blog.html "A recent study from Japan found that volunteers who spent two hours a day in 63 degree temperatures for six weeks experienced a significant decrease in body fat. A group of Danish researchers reported that people who spend six hours a day at cooler temperatures wind up adjusting after 10 days—shivering less and feeling more comfortable in the cold. " “Your body needs to burn calories to dissipate warmth to cool you down or to generate heat when you’re cold,” she explained. It’s when you’re in a Goldilocks climate—not too hot, not too cold—that your body requires the fewest calories to maintain your body temperature.

Interesting. I suppose I'll use that as my excuse for excess body fat from now on. :-)

I have to admit to skipping most instruction manuals and booklets. Especially for things likeRead More refrigerators and hair dryers. I've think I've got the basics down.
Lori Duff November 13, 2013 at 03:42 pm
Ha! I normally don't either, but this one was so, well, so phone-book like in size that I wasRead More really curious how one could come up with that much to say about a refrigerator.

I have those lumps and bumps in strange places too and, yes, the Spanx does roll over my tummy onRead More its downward end. I try to ignore it as much as possible. Hope you are feeling better!

Spanx comes in a high-waisted version that goes all the way up to your bra. Enough said.
