Love is a Verb...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ssZvboBJvYY

Love is defined as a (1) : strong affection for another arising out of kinship or personal ties (2) : attraction based on sexual desire : affection and tenderness felt by lovers (3) : affection based on admiration, benevolence, or common interests

Though it has many meanings the central foundation by which the word "love" is based on is the common thread that links all life together.  From it's most innocent forms (a child's love) to it's deepest darkest (crime of passion) love is probably the one and only emotive trait that all humans share.  It could be argued that some people don't have a clue what love is, however I beg to differ.

I think all people have some understanding to what love is whether it be because they have loved or are in the absence of it.  We could argue that no person who has ever loved couldn't do violent things, but in some cases it's the lack of love in their life that caused a downward spiral.  Now I'm not saying that love solves all things, but I can argue that it does help.

Love in it's simplest form is pure, unadulterated and unconditional.  Look at a child's love for its parents.  Not knowing anything other than what it's parent show and give them, they completely rely on the parents, even if it's out of necessity.  It's the lack of or abusing form of love that clouds the vision of said child and that alone creates a downward spiral.  I realize that there are other factors along the way, but I'm just pointing out this one in particular.

As the song that's attached at the beginning of this blog states "Love ain't a thing, Love is a verb" we must do the same in all of our relationships.  We have to show our love; show that we care.  Always remember that anyone can say anything about love, but to show it speaks louder and lasts longer than any words that can be said.  The greatest example of love would Christ giving His life as a sacrifice so that we might live.  There is no greater example than that.  And I believe that God knew He'd have to show us because in our minds seeing is believing.

So as you walk through the door this evening and your kids or loving spouse comes to embrace be sure you take the time to show and prove the Love is a Verb...
