Several football players from the Loganville-Grayson area will be celebrating their official football scholarship signings to colleges around the country on Feb. 1.
Wednesday, Feb. 1st, student-athletes nationwide will commit to colleges and their football programs on National Signing Day. This is the first day the NCAA allows high school seniors to sign a binding National Letter of Intent.
According to officials at Walton County Public Schools, Tyler Zielenske from Walnut Grove High School will be signing a commitment to Mercer University. Tommy Stringer, athletic director at Loganville High School, said LHS Red Devil offensive linesman Avery White also would be signing a commitment to Mercer University. Stringer said a LHS soccer player, Jordan Draughon, would be signing a commitment to a school in North Carolina on a soccer scholarship.
Signing ceremonies are scheduled at both WGHS and LHS at 3:15 p.m. Loganville Christian Academy athletic director Andre King said there were no signing scheduled at LCA.
