According to WSB-TV reports, Jorelys' remains will be flown to Puerto Rico for burial.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation director Vernon Keenan has announced updates in the case as well as the results of an autopsy. Keenan has called this a "very horrific and brutal murder," adding that it was "very calculated and planned." The child died as a result of blunt force trauma to the head less than 2 hours after she was abducted from the playground at around 5 p.m. on Friday.

She "was taken to a vacant apartment, assaulted there, murdered and then disposed of in the Dumpster which contains compacted trash." Autopsy results show that she was stabbed and sexually assaulted. Investigators located traces of blood in an apartment; samples have been sent to the GBI for analysis.
Officials feel that the killer lives in, or has access to the apartment community.
"What we need is help from the public," said Canton Police Chief Jeff Lance. "That is the key to our investigation right now." Authorities are offering a $15,000 reward for information that would lead to the "arrest and conviction of the child murderer."
