Tweet #PatchRebuilds to Help Hurricane Sandy Survivors

Patch will make a $1 donation to AmeriCares for every tweet with the hashtag #PatchRebuilds.

You can help rebuild communities that were hit by Hurricane Sandy by donating cans of food, volunteering for cleanup efforts—or simply sending a tweet.

Patch is excited to announce our new effort to help support devestated communities after the storm. For every tweet sent with the hashtag #PatchRebuilds, we will donate $1 to the AmeriCares Hurricane Sandy Disaster Relief Fund, up to $125,000.

Your contribution will go toward medical and humanitarian aid, grants and programs to help Sandy survivors.

You can simply tweet the hashtag #PatchRebuilds, or go to our Patch Rebuilds website, rebuilds.patch.com, and tweet directly from the site.

A customized tweet that starts “My heart belongs to…” is created from the Patch Rebuilds website, and tweeters can type in an area they are most connected to that was hit by Hurricane Sandy.

I have retweeted that my heart belongs to Silverton, NJ in support of the family of Loganville's Kim Roberto who was a featured writer in our very first editions of Loganville-Grayson Patch. Please retweet this so we can up our support of our neighbors to the North. Go to http://rebuilds.patch.com/loganville and retweet the town ravaged by Hurricane Sandy that you want to support.

Ivy,
Wow - thanks so much for your tweet to Silverton, NJ in support of my parents. That is so nice of you! I will let my parents know about this and the contributions Patch is providing to the area. I am happy to report that my parents were able to finally get a rental home to stay in for the months ahead so that they can begin to rebuild their own. There still isn't any power hook-up to the Silverton area, but they are starting to clean up and get ready for contractors to begin this massive undertaking. Thanks so much again for your help and support. It is truly appreciated!
