Trick or Treat Returns to Main Street

For the little ones, a Loganville Main Street Halloween Trick or Treat.

The annual Trick or Treat returns to Main Street in Loganville from 4 – 6 p.m. Oct. 29.

According to Loganville Councilwoman Michelle Lynch, Main Street will be closed off to traffic for that time to allow businesses and organizations to line Main Street for the event. Lynch said at last count, 22 businesses confirmed they would be participating.  She said Laura Ellis of BB&T is organizing the event with some help from members of the Legacy Lions. Trick or Treat on Main Street takes place in the city annually so that the little ones, usually from second-grade and younger, can have a safe place to Trick or Treat.

If anyone has information about similar events planned for Loganville or Grayson for little ones, please let the community know in comments. Often churches arrange events for families who wish to celebrate the occasion in a church-based environment. Please let us know of any of these events in the community that we might have missed.

Robert thank you very much for sharing that. We'll add it to our calendar and make sure we feature it on Saturday. Also, parents, don't forget to upload pictures of your little Trick or Treaters to our Heidi Klum competition. Winning benefits you and a charity of your choice - how could Halloween get better than that!

I was very excited to attend this year's Trick or Treat on Main St! I took my three year old and although he got antsy about the wait, he eventualy got used to saying trick or treat and enjoyed the rest of his time.
I do want to make mention of something that was very disturbing to me and the others that had gone with us. There was a pro-life type group there passing out these little rubber 12 week old fetuses. My son went up and asked what they were. Before I could intervene the gentleman took it upon himself to explain to my child that it was a 12 week old fetus and that is what he looked like in mommy's belly. I can understand people's choices, but this was not the time nor the place to be explaining this and to be passing out these fetus dolls. This was something that was supposed to be geared towards school age children. (I think I read 2nd grade and younger.) First off, this is a trick or treating event with children. CHILDREN...I do not think that the folks that attended needing to be persuaded for pro-life. The proof is in the pudding. Secondly, these were children. 7 and under. This was inappropriate and disgusting. There is a time and place for everything and whoever headed this group was apparently mistaken at what type of environment is appropriate to pass out little rubber 12 week old fetuses. Maybe montioring what will be handed out should go into effect for next year. From that gross representation, I most likely will not attend next year.
