When Sharyn Berg took Faith Powers to the Parkside at Grayson Shopping Center last week, it was just for a pleasant outing for the two of them.

“Faith has Down’s Syndrome and I am her caregiver. I’m always looking for fun outings during the day,” Berg said, adding it was while looking for one of those outings that she found the Spring Fling that was taking place at the Parkside at Grayson Shopping Center. “We visited all the stores, enjoyed cheese cubes at Dr. Huber’s Office, received a goody bag at Salon 124 and visited Jay Lowrance at Grayson Computer.”

Berg said that was where they saw the iPad that was being given away.

“After answering all the questions from the retailers on a card provided to us, we dropped it in the bucket at Johnny’s Pizza and went on our way,” Berg said, adding that one of Faith’s favorite activities is playing video games. “I try and find opportunities for her to play when I can find something that is free. Money is a problem - that was why we were at the Spring Fling.”

All in all, they had a fun day, but the best was yet to come.

“To our surprise, Faith’s mom received a call Monday saying Faith had won the iPad,” Berg said.

Immediately on receiving the news, the three Grayson residents headed to Grayson Computer to pick up the iPad.

“Faith was as happy as can be to now have her very own iPad to play games on,” Berg said.
