Skimmer Attached to ATM at Loganville Bank of America

Loganville PD is warning Bank of America customers of the scam.

The Loganville Police Department is warning the public that there are reports of a skimmer being attached to the ATM at the Loganville Bank of America.

"We had a report that some type of a skimmer was attached to the ATM at Bank of America," said Lt. Mike Westbrooks with the LPD. "The victim met with the branch manager and was told that she was not the only customer who was victimized."

Westbrooks asked that the public pay close attention to ATM machines and report anything that looks unusual.

I went to a seminar a couple of weeks ago to learn how to help my clients be aware of identity theft. They had a bunch of pictures of skimmers. The skimmers looked just like they belonged there. The criminals attach the skimmer to the atm over the card slot, it skims it on the way into the card slot. You might not even be aware that it happened.

Thanks for the info Ned. I guess if there is any resistance to your card at all, don't use it.

Wtf is wrong with these losers? The other end of memorial drive is headed to Loganville sadly. I was thinking of buying a home in Loganville but after watching Snellville go down the tubes then Grayson I'm not so sure I want to. Urban decay, it's inevitable everywhere I guess.

Try MOONBASE realtors, really low priced real estate -- Very high commute costs.

There is more to Loganville, Grayson and Snellville than Highway 78.... I hope you can see beyond that when considering moving to one of these great cities. Much is being done in the realm of revitalization of the commercial corridor as well..

Sorry Sharon - didn't mean to hijack the thread. Thanks for the info and definition of a skimmer. I had never even heard of it before!

I have heard that, before you swipe your card through gas station pumps and ATMs, tug on the reader. Apparently, skimmers are attached fairly loose so they can be installed for easy in, easy out. You have to be street smart no matter where you live.
