Royal Baby on the Way, Place Your Bets
Bets are already been placed on whether the baby will be a boy or a girl, one or two, and what names will be chosen. Traditional names or not, what do you think?
With the announcement this week that Prince William and Kate Middleton, his bride of about 18 months, are expecting their first child in 2013, bookies are looking to rake in the dough.
According to The Daily Mail, bets were already being placed on the possibility of a royal birth in 2013. Well that one’s been settled, but there are plenty of other possibilities. Will it be a boy, or a girl — and what if it’s twins? Will it be a pigeon pair or will the royal couple’s firstborn be two boys or two girls? Just a thought here, I guess the firstborn, even if by seconds, would be the heir to the throne.
Bets are also being placed on names — lowest odds on the traditional names — John, Charles and Francis for a boy. The favorite for a girl is Elizabeth, with Diana not far behind.
What are your thoughts on appropriate names for the firstborn child of Prince William and Kate Middleton? Traditional names as bookies seem to believe? Or do you think they will surprise us all and step outside the royal box on this one?

I'll bet that before the baby is born, I will be sick of hearing about it. Wait...I've already won that bet!

Boy: Prince Mitch. Sounds terrible but I will go with it.
Girl: How about Jacintha Saldanha after that poor nurse that just killed herself.

I heard about that poor nurse. There must have been something else going on, but still these practical jokes at some unsuspecting person really don't have much going for them - not that I can see anyway.

Wow...that's tragic. I can't imagine she felt that bad about it!

She was humiliated on a live broadcast which went viral worldwide. The criticism and guilt she felt were too much for her to bear, maybe at a time when she was going through other difficulties. So sad for her children.

I would think that Prince William and Harry having a bit of a different raising (at least a good start) by their mother Diana, might veer a little from tradition (in hr hono) and at least find a way to have Diana's name in there somewhere. Of course, we know William will be in there somewhere- it's a royal name and hard to get away from.
