News Nearby: Second Annual MLK Day Parade in Snellville
The event is a joint effort between Mayor Kelly Kautz and New Jerusalem Baptist Church.
The city of Snellville will host its second annual Martin Luther King Jr celebration on Jan. 21.
The Rev. Elijah Collins of New Jerusalem Baptist Church and Snellville Mayor Kelly Kautz recent announced the plans. The theme of which is "unity in the community."
"We need unity at this point in time in Snellville more than ever," Kautz said.
The group will leave at 11 a.m. on Jan. 21 at New Jerusalem Baptist Church; the city is invited to line up at 10:45 p.m.
The parade will stretch from the church, located at 1958 Dogwood Road, to City Hall. Park at either City Hall or Texas Roadhouse, and a shuttle will be available.
Special performances will take place at City Hall by Time2Inspire, Triple 7 Dance Company and South Gwinnett High School Performing Arts.
Following the parade, the president's inaugural address will be aired at New Jerusalem Baptist Church.
