Friends and family of Mark Jidov, the cyclist killed last month on Broadnax Mill Road, are inviting the cycling community to participate in a 30-35-mile Memorial Ride today following the service. An e-mail from Harvey Blanco of Lifetime Bikes Loganville and TaNisha Brown conveyed the message to the cycling community on behalf of Jidov's family. Brown and Blanco were instrumental in getting the county to erect "Share the Road" signs on Broadnax Mill Road in time for Jidov's Memorial Service.
"Mark’s family has reached out to the cycling community for a show of support. This Sunday, to honor a fellow cyclist, we would like to encourage all of you to attend his memorial service in your riding attire," the e-mail reads. "Directly after the memorial we will depart as a group from Victory Baptist Church to ride the normal Sunday route. (30-35 miles-no drop, All area are cyclists are welcomed and encouraged to join the ride).
