Man Found In Transfer Station Identified - Cause of Death Blunt Force Trauma
Man has been identified as Raul Alayon, 60, an immigrant from Uruguay who had made his home in Loganville.
The Monroe Police Department said in a press release that the dead man found in a transfer station in Monroe on Tuesday was Raul Alayon, 60, an immigrant from Uruguay. The Walton Tribune is reporting that he had made his home in Loganville. According to the press release, Alayon died of blunt force trauma to his entire body.
A Monroe Public Works employee is reported to have found the body in the transfer station trailer just before 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday morning. The scene was secured and an investigation conducted by detectives from the Monroe PD and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. Officials said that the transfer station is the hub for many jurisdictions so it is likely that the murder took place outside of Monroe. The investigation has now been taken over by the GBI.
