The Loganville Police Department is currently investigating a shooting incident that took place Dec. 23, 2011 during an argument between two adult brothers. During the course of the events, a shot was fired and a third sibling, a sister, was shot in her right calf.

"At this point the incident is classified as an accidental shooting, but we are looking into it further," said LPD Det. David Hunt. "Obviously when a gun is fired, we have to investigate - especially during an argument."

In addition, the following arrests were reported by the Loganville Police Department beween Dec. 27 and Jan. 2, 2012. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Dec. 27, 2011

• Mikaylah Ashanti Maynor, 18, of 514 Cherry Creek Drive, Loganville, was charged with disorderly conduct and shoplifting (less than $300.)
• Ted C. Hutchins, 21, of 3139 Battlement, Loganville, was charged with shoplifting (less than $300,) drugs - synthetic narcotic possession and possession of schedule III drugs.
• Dreshun M. Tyler, 20, of 234 Hoke O'Kelley Mill Road, Loganville, was charged with shoplifting (less than $300,) drugs - synthetic narcotic possession and possession of schedule III drugs.

Dec. 29

• Jaime Steven Caraballo, 20, of 707 Hillmont Drive, Loganville, was charged with driving while unlicensed or license expired, driving with a suspended tag and leaving the scene of an accident with injury/damage.
• Denny Gene Russell, 40, of 936 Century Oak Drive, Loganville, was charged with obtaining, attempting to obtain dangerous drugs by fraud, forgery, concealment of material fact or use of false name or address.

Dec. 31

• Melanie Jill Wright, 51, of 1269 Granite Lane, Loganville, was charged with family violence, battery.

Jan. 1, 2011

• Billy Dean Short, 26, of 765 Wilkes Drive, Loganville, was charged with criminal trespass, private.

Jan. 2

• John D. Smith, 20, of 1611 Timber Walk Heights Drive, Loganville, was charged with possession/purchase of alcohol under 21, driving while license suspended/revoked and reckless driving.
