Love Triangle Ends in Murder-Suicide

Gwinnett Police responded to a report of a person hit by a vehicle in Duluth Tuesday only to find it was a murder-suicide in progress. They were on the scene when the assailant shot herself.

According to a press release from Gwinnett County Police Department, the traffic incident they responded to last night turned out to be an alleged love triangle turned tragic.

GCPD officers responded to a call for a person hit by a vehicle at 3802 Satellite Blvd. in unincorporated Duluth. The report of gunshots quickly changed the dynamics and several back-up officers were called. An off-duty police officer reported he had arrived to find the assailant, Sylvia Junn 44, standing near two bodies, a male and a female. She was armed with a gun and reportedly refused to disarm. She then shot herself in the head. One of the victims was her husband, Charles Junn, 45.  The other victim, a 51-year-old female, was able to be transported by ambulance to a local hospital. Her identity is being withheld.

According to Cpl. Jake Smith of GCPD, all three worked in the same office at the incident location. The two victims were thought to have had an affair in the past. In the press release, Smith said the investigation revealed that Sylvia Junn drove to the incident location and confronted her husband and the female victim in the parking lot, shooting them both. She then left, driving over her husband in the process. She quickly returned, still carrying the gun and the witness who had reported the incident retreated from the scene. An officer arrived shortly thereafter, which is when the assailant shot herself.
