Loganville to Play for GHSA Baseball Championship Today
After splitting the first two games of the GHSA AAAA Baseball playoffs against Greenbriar on Saturday, Loganville is playing for the Championship at 2 p.m. today at Red Devil Stadium.
Loganville and Greenbriar's third and final game of the AAAA Georgia High School baseball championship series is today at Red Devil stadium. After taking the first game on Saturday, and then struggling in the second forcing a third game, Red Devil fans are hoping the team will pull it out today to take the title.
In the Red Devil’s favor is Clint Frazier, a player already being compared to Oakland Athletic Brandon Moss, another Loganville High School alumnus, who was first drafted to the Boston Red Socks. In a recent feature on Frazier in ScoreAtlanta, LHS head baseball coach Jeff Segars referred to Frazier as a middle of the order hitter that brings a lot to the table offensively. Segars said it’s Frazier’s “tremendous bat speed that comes packed with a lot of power.”
The LHS junior, who has reportedly already committed to the University of Georgia, has broken four of Moss’s records, including for most homes runs in a single season (22), career home runs (44), single season RBI (56) and career RBI (117) and runs scored (54).
The Walton Tribune has been following the series and gives a rundown of the outcome of the first two games.
The teams take to the field at 2 p.m. today for the third and final game.
