Loganville Looking at Getting a Roller Rink
A property owner on Athens Highway in Loganville is looking to bring a roller rink to the city.
One of the cases the Loganville City Council is discussing at tonight's work session could result in a roller rink coming to the city.
According to officials, W.F. Albright is asking for a reduction in the number of parking spaces of his property at 220 Athens Highway in Loganville. The property already houses a miniature golf facility and officials say, if approved, the owner plans is to expand the indoor facility to include a roller rink. He would require a reduction on the required number of parking spaces in order to expand the facility.
The Loganville City Council Work Session is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. tonight at City Hall on Pecan Street.

It sounds like it's going to be a great addition to the city. They're suspending the Putt and Play while they work on the rink but the plan is to have both facilities available.

I like this roller rink idea, I grew up at Stoneskate (by Stone Mtn)! I do hope that they are considering a 'quality' rink..not an undersized kiddie place only. Skating is great exercise and a good hang out for tweens too.

I second what sherry said. The rink's a great idea but I don't see how that space parking lot included will be big enough to draw customers. Will the flooring still be in the building?

I've got some information coming in after Thursday's vote and I'll update the story then but part of what they are looking for is a reduction of parking space in the front so they can expand the floor space and then, if it is well supported, they will be reducing the size of the detention pond in the back and adding more parking spaces there.
