Loganville Gears Up for 2012 Christmas Parade

The parade down Main Street, Loganville, begins at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 1.

 

City streets are decorated, the Christmas Tree lights are on, the only thing left to usher in the 2012 Christmas Season in Loganville is the annual Christmas Parade. The City of Loganville is inviting residents to join them in "A Country Christmas" parade.

The festivities kick off at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 1, as the city welcomes parade participants down Main Street in Loganville. The theme for this year's parade of lights is "A Country Christmas" with Jordan Rager, Loganville's own rising country music star star, serving as Grand Marshal.

Float entries will be judged and the following awards handed out:  

  • Mayor's Award; 1st, 2nd or 3rd Place. 
  • The City Manager will award the best City Department float. 
  • The Parade Organizer will award an Honorable Mention.

The entry fee is simple - a canned donatation for each parade participant to Shepherd's Staff. More than one item of canned goods will be gratefully accepted too. Drop locations are listed on the website or you can drop them offr at at City Hall, 4835 Pecan St., Loganville or at the Shepherd Staff offices, 76 Bay Creek Road, Suite N, Loganville.

Salmon
Canned Meat (beef stew, corned beef, Treet or Spam)
Canned Spaghetti Sauce
Spaghetti Noodles
Canned Pasta (spaghetti & meatballs, ravioli, etc.)
Canned Fruit (peaches, fruit cocktail, pears)
Canned Corn
Canned Green Beans
Canned English Peas
Canned Mixed Vegetables
Canned Soup (tomato, vegetable, chicken noodle, chicken rice)
Boxed Mac & Cheese
Peanut Butter
Jelly
Rice
Dry Beans or Peas
Unsweetened Cereal
Crackers

I look forward to our Christmas parade every year with great anticipation. This year is no different. For me this is when the holiday season begins. I'm looking forward to seeing everybody & taking photos to post here on Patch.

I'm looking forward to it for more than a few reasons :) My son is honored to have been asked to be the Grand Marshall - Jordan loves Loganville and can't wait to see everyone Saturday at the parade!
