Independence Day Rally by Walton County Tea Party Patriots in Monroe Saturday
Event will run from noon to 4 p.m. at the Historic Courthouse in Monroe.
The Walton County Tea Party Patriots will be holding an Independence Day “call to restoration” rally July 2 in front of the Walton County historic courthouse in Monroe from noon to 4 p.m. Speakers include national TEA party leaders Debbie Dooley and Julianne Thompson as well as U.S. Rep. Rob Woodall and pastor and radio host Dr. Jody Hice as well as many others. The Kevin Ringo band also will be performing patriotic music
“This will not be a negative event although we will point out the things that we feel need to be changed in order to restore the country to the principles it was founded on,” said Patrick Acree, president and co-founder of the organization. “We have invited several speakers to address issues such as the debt ceiling, health care and immigration. We particularly want to get the youth motivated to participate.”
Acree said some of the people invited to speak include all the local state and U.S. representatives, as well as an expert who has his pHD and is qualified to address the issue of health care.
Acree said the event will include patriotic music and a call to the electorate to become engaged in solution to the issues facing the country. Although the rally is planned to coincide with the Independence Day weekend, Acree said they will be holding it July 2 so as not to interfere with Independence Day celebrations and other family events.
