How Long Did It Take You to Vote?

Long lines were reported for early voting. How long did you have to wait in line to vote?

It seems to have been a long time coming, but Election Day 2012 is finally here. Early voting closed Friday last week and right up until the end some precincts reported long lines.

In Gwinnett County, Ga. there were reports of some people waiting up to eight hours to cast early ballots. In other states, it was even worse. In Florida, officials had to open up the polls for another four hours to make sure everybody got to vote.

But today, there are no other options. Anybody who wants to vote, but hasn't yet, is going to have to get in one of those lines and wait their turn.

Whether you are voting today or voted during the early voting period, how long did you have to wait in line? How did 2012 lines in your precinct compare to 2008?

I voted Friday and I was in line for two and a half hours. In 2008, I early voted and was in line for three and a half hours.

Voted at Grace Baptist this morning. Was in line at 6:30 and was done by 7:20ish. Line wasn't horrible, but certainly longer than I expected that early. Certainly better than the line I saw at the Dacula early voting location on Friday afternoon when I thought about trying to vote then!

@RL, that's pretty quick. That means they are getting people in and out over there!

Voted at First Baptist Church in Monroe at 9:30 a.m. Walked in and out in about 5 minutes. Only time I spent was filling in the form and actually voting. No lines at all. There were, however, longer lines at Loganville in the Municipal election on whether or not to allow package store, or two, in the city!

I waited an hour and a half at Annistown Road Baptist, and they said it was moving faster than earlier. There were barely any parking spots.

I voted today at the Five Points Fire Station and went right in. The workers there said I was between crowds. It must have taken 10 minutes.

I voted early and was in line for over 7 hours. It was sad, but I cast my vote. This was my first vote in Gwinnett County. I hope they do better next time.

Seven and a half hours at Saturday voting in Centerville. The county refused to send additional laptops and poll workers after finding out about the long wait.
