Honoring the Service and Sacrifice of Maj. Walter David Gray
The family of Loganville High School graduate Maj. David Gray, KIA in Afghanistan on Aug. 8, will be in town for his Loganville Memorial on Tuesday. The community is reminded to line the streets in a show of support.
The Loganville and surrounding community is asked by line the streets at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 21, to honor the sacrifice of 1992 Loganville High School graduate Maj. Walter David Gray. The airman was killed in action in Afghanistan on Aug. 8. His funeral was on Aug. 17 at his home base in Colorado and a memorial service will be conducted at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 21, at the First Baptist Church of Loganville on Tom Brewer Road. His family, including his wife and three children, will be in Loganville for the service and will drive down Highway 78 to the church. Gray will finally be laid to rest on Aug. 24 at Arlington National Cemetery.
