Home Invasion Shooting Prompts Neighborhood Watch in Loganville
Following the Jan. 4 home invasion in the Henderson Ridge Subdivision that resulted in a mother shooting the intruder, the Sharon Church community is coming together to organize a neighborhood watch.
In the light of recent crime in the area, the Sharon Church community is banding together to address the issue.
The Henderson Ridge subdivision is off of Sharon Church Road. Several of the homeowners in the greater Sharon Church Road subdivision plan on meeting this week to discuss establishing a neighborhood watch program.
"As a result of this, we feel we should come together as a community and create a larger neighborhood watch program so we can communicate within our own area what may be happening," Loganville resident Anita Brown wrote in a newsletter to the neighborhood. "Our area will include Sharon Church from Miller Bottom to Sharon Church at Center Hill Church."
Brown asked that people in the neighborhood watch area submit any questions to her at firstname.lastname@example.org prior to Thursday's meeting so the questions can be addressed as a group.
This was not the only recent home invasion in Loganville. At the end of January, a homeowner had his home burnt to the ground by an alleged intruder. The family of four was displaced as a result and lost their family pets in the fire. That case is still under investigation.
