The Atlanta Sports Awards presentation takes place at the Fox Theatre in Atlanta Monday and Grayson features heavily in the line up with nominations in three of the categories.

The Atlanta Journal Constitution reported that the names of the nominees have been announced and Grayson High School football coach Mickey Conn is one of the three contenders for Coach of the Year. The other two nominees joining him are Atlanta Dream’s Marynell Meadors and Georgia football’s Mark Richt.

Grayson Rams’ football player Robert Nkemdiche joins Milton boys’ basketball player Shannon Scott and Walton tennis player Emily Zabor in the High School Athlete of the Year category. The Grayson Rams football team also is a nominee for Team of the Year. The other nominees in this category are the Atlanta Dream and Walton girls tennis.

Dominique Wilkins of Atlanta Hawks fame is reported to be receiving the 2012 Lifetime Achievement Award at the prestigious event.
