GOP Trolley Tour to Get Out the Vote in Gwinnett

Tour starts at George Pierce Park in Suwanee and will end at the election offices in Lawrenceville.

The presidential debates are behind us, there are campaign signs popping up every where in Gwinnett County and campaign robo calls are sure to follow. With election day just little more than a week away, Gwinnett Republicans are planning a trolley tour to get out the vote on Saturday.

U.S. Congressman Rob Woodall will attend a GOP rally at George Pierce Park in Suwanee at 11 a.m., according to Facebook. This is in connection with Family Voting Day.

"Saturday is Family Voting Day, and to celebrate, we're touring voting locations in Gwinnett in support of Mitt, Paul and our Gwinnett candidates," the announcement reads.

After the short rally, the candidates will head for the Gwinnett elections office and vote. Saturday is the one official weekend day for early voting. After that, there is just one more week of early voting before the official election on Nov. 6.

In Gwinnett County, some 20,000 of the 462,000 registered voters had taken advantage of early voting by Wednesday and cast their votes either in person or by mail according to Lynn Ledford, Gwinnett County Elections Director.
