Do You Buy Into Global Warming?

2012 was the hottest year on record in the United States. Scientists say high temperatures were brought on by release of greenhouse gases.

We all know remember the unprecedented 106+ degrees last summer. But was it just a fluke of nature?

According to AccuWeather the average temperature in the U.S. in 2012 was 55.3 degrees, which is 3.2 degrees above normal. This ranks as the warmest year since 1895 when record keeping began.

Scientists agree that temperatures historically rise and fall, but say that warming caused by the human release of greenhouse gases played into the extreme high temperatures in 2012.

The year began with an unusually warm winter with relatively little snow last year as the beginning which was followed by a March that was so hot that trees began to bloom. Then the drought that engulfed 61 percent of the nation.

Was it just coincidental that 11 natural disasters including several tornadoes, two hurricanes, one striking the Gulf Coast, the second causing extensive damage in New Jersey and New York hit in one year.

What do you think? Was this just a rare case of severe weather or are we looking at a real global warming trend?

Yes. And, it's not brand new. The polar ice cap is shrinking, and icebergs are melting into the seas. There is tangible, measurable evidence and data. It's called Science.

It's hard to believe that, 119 years after it was first discovered that CO2 was a greenhouse gas, there are still a few people that think they know better than every single Acadamy of Science and virtualy every single climate scientist on the planet.

The "I just can't believe it" line is no match for the basic laws of physics.
What we do about it is debateable of course, as is just how bad things will get.
That it is happening isn't in debate in the scientific community and hasn't been for decades now.
We are long past the time for denial. Climate change is going to wreck the US economy if we don't do something about it soon.

Leslie, Its ok to be wrong. But give it a little investigation.
The statements you make run the usual course for 95% of people on this issue....
...thats 95% is people that have never actually investigated, on BOTH sides. Your 'facts" are 100% wrong. They are the propaganda that one can filter through in a short time.
By the way the consensus is actually about 3%. If you like I can answer some questions or direct you to where and how to find out by yourself.
And hey wouildn't it be better if GW was not happenning?
Be brave and either ask me anything, or look for yourself..........

"Buy" into? I hope that's an unintentionally-biased phrasing.

I would be willing to take on anyone to prove GW is the biggest hoax on humanity,
if anyone is brave enough to ask me a question. No angry debating just information passing through. I do not know all the answers, but i have at least investigated it, and know this is all false as well as the so called consensus .......
