God is good all the time! God says never stop praying or believing.....God has brought me through so much..and I am thankful everyday! In 2005 after several trips to the ER with severe abdominal pain I was referred to my urologist who found an obstruction in one of my ureters. He described this as a "growth" and after several exploratories he felt it was most likely cancerous and would necessitate the removal of my left kidney. Part of the prep for that surgery was to biopsy the "growth" to verify the cancer, so a week before I was scheduled to lose the kidney I went in for the biopsy procedure. Before I went in to surgery a very sweet nun came by and asked if I would like for her to pray with me.

I explained to her that while I wasn't Catholic I would very much appreciate her prayers so she took my hand and prayed with me for several minutes. As we were finishing the orderliy came so I thanked her and she wished me well. When I came out of the anesthetic the first thing I saw was my urologist's face spread in a wide grin. "I have some good news" he said, "it's gone". At first I thought he was talking about my kidney; maybe things were worse than they expected and he'd had to go ahead and take it. Then I heard him say, "...the growth is gone, your ureter is completely clear". Other than "I do", "it's a boy", and "it's a girl", those were the sweetest words I've ever heard. Was it a miracle? I've always felt it a bit presumptuous to think God would waste a miracle on such a poor sinner but my faith tells me that God's hand was at work that day.

Thank you for sharing that Brian. Coincidence? Maybe, but nobody knows for sure - at least not in a realm where we are able to share. Like you, I like to think somebody had your back that day - and who is to know why.

I absolutely believe that God hears and answers prayers! Thank you Lord!

Coincidence ? NOT! That somebody was the ever living most high God our Lord Jesus Christ. Prayers do work...you just got to have faith.

Years ago my 8 yr old son Steven woke up and couldn't put weight on one one of his legs. His pediatrician sent us to a pediatric orthaepedist who examined Steven. He said that he most likely had Legg Perthes which is a condition that causes young boys hip bones to fracture. The treatment is crutches or a wheelchair for about 2 years while the bone knits back together. He put Steven on crutches and scheduled an MRI. I was heartbroken and prayed that God would give him strength to endure what he had to and that God would make His presense known in Steven's life during these years when he was so much more limited than his peers.
We went in for the MRI and the technician said she didn't see anything wrong. We went back to the Dr and the exam was normal. I asked if maybe Steven could have been faking to get out of school or something because I was so shocked. The Dr said No. Previously Steven had severely restricted range of motion in his hips and now he didn't. That was definitely a healing. God in His mercy gave me so much more of a healing than I dared to ask for. Believe, trust and ask God to help your unbelief.
He doesn't always give the healing we ask for but He always hears and loves us and heals in some way - even if it is by restoring us completely in heaven.

C'mon man! I prayed for the sun to rise. Praise god. I prayed that I wouldn't be eaten by a shark. Praise god. When will you realize that voices in your head are of no consequence?

You need to be evaluated if you're hearing voices in your head.

John- hopefully the day will never come when you need the power of prayer.... Now go back to sleep.

Cynical about religion? Science has become a religion to some, and science has come a long way. BUT - they now have two theories with great excitement over each. The theory of relativity (Einstein) and now the new and improved quantum physics. The only problem is: the two theories do not mesh. Do we really think we have "finally" figured it all out? That's where my doubt lies.

Gee, Gob must not like me . . . I prayed so hard for my sister to live and she died of cancer after a 6 month battle.
