Body Located In Lawrenceville Believed To Be That Of Missing Mother Of Three
Amy Elk, of Loganville, told reporters she was "reasonably sure" the body is that of her sister, 44-year-old Nique Leili, of Lawrenceville, missing since July 8.
According to a report in the Atlanta Journal Constitution, family members believe a body found in Lawrenceville Saturday is likely that of a mother of three who went missing July 8.
Cpl. J. Roberts, public information officer for the Gwinnett County Police Department sent out a press release just after 11 a.m. Saturday advising she was responding to a body that had been located in Lawrenceville. According to the AJC, Amy Elk of Loganville, who was part of an organized search Saturday morning looking for the missing woman, is “reasonably sure” the body located was that of her sister, Nique Leili, 44.
The body was reportedly found by a co-worker of Leili’s who was part of a search party in the Oak Villiage subdivision where the missing woman lived. The body was located under a pile of leaves.
The Gwinnett Police public information officer said at this point they do not have any suspects. She said no official identification has yet been made and couldn't give a specific time when an autopsy would be done to establish a cause of death.
"I don't know when the autopsy is planned for - whenever the (medical examiner) has time," Roberts said, adding, "but I would assume they will get to it quickly."
She said she would update information if there were any significant developments in the case.
