Are You a Traditional Voter?
Early voting has been gaining popularity in recent years because of the convenience, but many people still prefer to wait until the day of the election. Have you voted yet, or are you still a traditional voter?
With the practice of early voting gaining popularity, it's no longer quite as easy to use the lines at the polls on election day as a gauge on whether or not voter turnout is good.
According to a recent story at www.realclearpolitics.com, early voting has become a trend since 2004 and has significantly changed the way candidates campaign. It has drawn out the election season and forces candidates to get their message out earlier – and for a longer sustained period. However, despite all the conveniences it offers, early voting reportedly hasn’t significantly raised voter turnout. It does look like early voting is here to stay though and many believe there will come a time when even presidential elections will be decided before the first Tuesday in November.
Did you take advantage of early voting or are you a traditional voter and prefer to wait until the official day of the election, and if so, why?
